I need help identifying

Has anybody come across seeing something like this if so can you please help me identify what’s wrong with her skin does she have an infection? We took her to the vet for fleas a month ago we’ve been giving her antibiotics taking her bath and flea medicine and everything and nothing seems to be working.

Daycare 9 year old

Need advice fellow basset lovers. My boy is 9,he’s been going to daycare for 8 years. Its pricey like 75 dollars a day including tip. Now, we have to pay extra for each additional activity.

I have been thinking of stopping due to his age, the cost, his rising medical bills.

He is walked every morning, then lots of enrichment activities after I get home from work. He’s happy as far as I know:)

Am I ruining his golden years taking him out of daycare? The cost is definitely not in my budget,but I’ve always made it work.

Any other seniors in daycare? Any thoughts are welcomed!

puppy training struggles

Hi! I have a basset puppy who is 8 weeks old now. I’ve had him for about a week and it has been a struggle. I love him to death but it has been hard.

Potty training and separation anxiety have been the hardest. I know he’s young so I don’t mind the accidents because he usually does go on the grass, the accidents usually happen if i’m doing something and not paying attention. Sometimes he’ll stand by the door and sometimes he doesn’t.

The separation anxiety is BAD! I cannot do anything without him crying soooooo loud. If i’m not touching him, playing with him, following him, or next to him, he cries like he’s been hurt badly. At night, we put him in a crate, and he will cry for like a hour before finally calming. During the day I try doing positive crate reinforcement, if he goes in the crate willingly and calmly he gets treats and praise, i never use the crate as punishment. Only when it’s bed time or I desperately need to get something done in the house without worrying if he’s getting into something. I just don’t know what to do to help his anxiety. Nothing I do helps, and once again I know he’s a baby, so he probably can’t help it, i’m just lost and don’t know what to do. Any advice appreciated

Edit: I want to add that currently I cannot take him on walks, I live in an apartment complex with lots of pets, and he does not have all his shots. I have a giant piece of real grass on our balcony! I just need the loud crying to tone down a bit, I don’t want to piss the neighbors off😆 At least the worst of it is during the day

Advice on a Basset Hound

Here’s some back story. Me and my boyfriend are getting our first house after 3 years (yay). I grew up on a farm with blue heeler cattle dogs. Trained for obedience and moving cattle. As a kid we took in a blood hound and all I can’t remember is how annoying she was. She was a good dog but barked like no tomorrow

My boyfriend’s family has had many dog breeds: cane corso, great pianeese, Australian Shepard, and a basset hound. His dream to to have a basset hound again

We are moving from the country to a town. We have a good size place and yard. There’s a little mouse problem so I am getting a cat. The cat will be my responsibility whole and I’m okay with that.

My boyfriend wants to get another basset hound. I know dogs in town need lots of work. I’m very concerned about the barking and stuff. I could manage walks and regular care. Are they as bad as I think? Does anything think this is manageable?
