Is this just a basset thing?

We have a three month old basset and have started taking small walks on pavement (vet approved) to get some energy burned. Problem is—she doesn’t want to walk away from our home. She will go, then just sit down. Like absolutely refusing to walk further away. When we turn back around to go home she walks just fine and no stubborn sit downs at all. I’m new to this breed and I was just wondering if this is a trait to be expected? I’ve had breeds in the past that love walks so this is new. Thanks!

Basset vs Dachshund

Hi everyone!

I have a dachshund and I have been considering for the past few years on getting a basset.

I was wondering if anyone has both, a basset and dachshund and could tell me how they compare?

My dachshund was not the easiest to train however has nailed the essential of being potty trained, he’s never had an accident inside and will go out even when it’s wet (contrary to other dachshunds I’ve heard!!!).

He sheds a little bit, but nothing crazy and smells like popcorn most of the time. Is Basset stink really a thing?

Giardia

Our little goose had 7 days of antibiotics to treat giardia and coccidia, had 3 good days after treatment, but in the past two days has had really yucky poops and doesn’t want to play or anything. He also threw up earlier, but his appetite is still good.

We’re dropping off a follow-up stool sample on Monday, but I’m 99% sure that he still has giardia, idk about coccidia.

Any advice in the meantime and/or to get rid of this for good??

Relief!

She’ll be six months at the end of November and we’re down to one puppy canine! Her moments of sweetness are growing and she’s SLOWLY learning to ask for attention by sitting and giving a bark, instead of biting us constantly 😅 I can see the light at the very long puppy to adult tunnel.
