Winter and the cold

So my guy is 7. My first year with him. Got through the banging heat now it’s just about at freezing temperatures. I’m in eastern Canada.

The paws, the coat… How do bassets fair in the cold. We have an aggressive walking component most days so cutting that out other than the extreme cold, isn’t an option. Gotta get the walking in.

He’s in good shape. Appropriate weight, fixed, if that matters.

I’m keen on a winter coat and snood for him, not sure about boots though.

Seeking reassurance…

Feeling like a bad mom, and just kinda sad for our Baby. Brucey is a little over 4mos old. I know Bassets can take time to potty train. He’s also teething (currently working on his premolars) and is on his last day of treatment for giardia, coccidia, hookworms, and roundworm. But some days are great and he goes right to his bells, takes great crate naps… then others like today, he’s hard to settle in his crate and has pee accidents left and right. He’ll only settle down right next to us and his dad is all anxious that he’s peeing too much…

Can you all recommend a tough bed?

My dude has just turned 10 months old, and in the last 2-ish months he’s destroyed 6 (I think, could be 7) beds. They were all the 20 buck pillow style from rural king and tractor supply. He’s also torn the zipper out of one of the tractor supply carhartt style ones and started to get the stuffing part when I caught him.
