This Saturday My Lola is Crossing The Bridge

This is my old lady Lola. She was born June 8, 2013. I had her and her littermate Maya since they were 6 weeks. We lost Maya in August 2023. Lola has been having more bad days than good. She is having a lot of cognitive issues on top of a lot of physical. I hate making this decision, but I know this is the best for her. I just hate that today was a good day for her. It makes me want to change my mind, but doing that will just be selfish. Her and I had a good talk yesterday and I saw in her eyes that she’s ready to be with Maya. Lola (and Maya) are the best dogs I could have ever asked for. Of course they were sassy at times, but aren’t all bassets? I am so blessed to have had her as my fur baby for nearly 12 years.
