we have 2 basset hounds – 1 female who’s 3, and 1 male who’s 8 months. They are our world. We’ve always let our older one sleep in bed with us, and now let our little guy sleep with us too as the howling was too hard for us to hear. He would be fine in his crate sometimes, then frantically howl and cry and quite frankly it was traumatic to hear. We believe he has separation anxiety, so this factors into this issue. We feel so bad but I can’t have them in bed forever.
The issue is I am being woken up all night long by them moving. My sleep is greatly impacted. I’m trying to think of a solution so they can sleep together somewhere or in a dog bed on the ground.
What has worked for your basset pair? How have you gotten them to sleep together NOT on the bed, or some likewise solution?
Thank you in advance!!!
