Been drawing Dogs are different DnD classes- here’s a Basset Hound rouge!
Did I get it right? A bold lad who sniffs out anything and everything interesting- even if it sometimes gets ’em into a bit of trouble (but the trouble is half the fun!)

Do baby cries trigger Bassett baying?
We’re on track to have our first kid in December, and I was just thinking about how fire truck sirens cause my Bassett to bay. I’m wondering if a baby’s cry would trigger it, too? FWIW, I love his bay.

She’s obediently listening to everything I say, should I take her to the vet?

Only 5 more weeks…
Due to military move overseas, we aren’t able to take our sweet Bertus with us. His extreme separation anxiety and the long flights (and quarantine) would be too rough for him. It’s been nearly 10 years, and he’s lived in several states and traveled to many. He’s been a pillow for us, and a tummy time pillow for both our children, and has taken the role of big brother quite well.
A cousin who is brilliant with animals, and her husband, will take him for the next 3 years, and however much longer he has. He’ll be 13 when we come back, so it would be unfair to him to take him back especially that late in life. She’s got an older beagle who will keep him company, grandkids who will visit often to play with him, and a huge backyard with free access due to a doggy door that will be accessed with a tag on his collar. She will keep him fit, a healthy weight, and up with shots at the vet. He’ll be so, so loved.
We are soaking up these last 5 weeks we have with him, before he basically retires. Just wanted to post on here, as we’re doing so, and even after he’s in his new home, I’ll probably be on this subreddit. He’s our first basset, and our first family pet, so bassets are extra special to us. ♥️ 🐶

Meet Donut!
Everyone is blown away by his color and massive ears. How would you describe this “sweet” little basshole?
