Basset aggression?
Has anyone noticed their basset becoming aggressive/territorial about toys after being spayed? Ours was spayed just 13 days ago and is now displaying this behavior with her pack mates and her people!

Looking for a Name
We’re six or so weeks away from the arrival of this little fella and we’re down to two* finalist names:
Hooper or Howard (Howie)
Hooper is the name our family has been using when talking about getting another Bassett after our Roscoe went on to the Great Gig in the Sky. Howard sounds like an old man name (which is a good thing) and my wife squees and positively lights up when she says “Howie.”
If not these, we’re looking for old gentlemens’ names.
Thanks for playing.

Help figuring out how to help our little man.
Hi there friends! My partner and I are concerned for our little guy and are hoping for some insight and recommendations. We thought his harness might be causing these issues on his chest/sides, so we got him a new one. My partner looked into recommended harnesses, and got one for him based on that (Ruffwear harness). We’ve been using the new one for a few days now, and he still seems to be having the same irritation. We loosened the harness and it’s still causing issues and honestly looks worse. He goes to daycare on our longer work days for anywhere from 8-10 hours, and while there has to wear his harness the entire time. Are we correct and this is likely a result of his harness? Is there a better harness we could get for him? Is there anything else this could be and if so, recommendations on how to help? It doesn’t seem to be bothering him, at least. He doesn’t notice it and we can touch it and he doesn’t mind. It just looks rough to us and we don’t want him to be uncomfortable. Thank you in advance!

Anyone’s basset do better off- leash?
My basset Hank, (3 yr old male) is a nightmare to walk on the leash. I know that’s pretty on brand for the breed, but off- leash he is amazing. Listens to commands, doesn’t stray, and follows at a decent pace. As soon as I put his leash back on he immediately switches to a snail pace and refuses to walk. Anyone else have this problem?? 😭 any tips on leash training?? I feel like we have tried it all

Got Luna a sister, her name is Barbie 🐶💙
Luna is the tri-colored one, and Barbie is the other.
Luna has been really energetic and clearly has needed a companion especially since she’s a puppy. Our third dog Murdoc refuses to interact with her and continuously runs away from her
My partner’s coworker works two jobs, one of them being a teacher, and she needed to re-home her basset (and luckily for free) and so this was the perfect opportunity to bring sisterhood to Luna
First night here and they’re getting along swimmingly

Duke and Dumbo
They look so innocent… You would never know that I came home from work to trash everywhere! Idk how they even knocked this trash can over, it’s our 2nd one due to their bassholeness and it’s heavy duty!🤦🏼♀️
