Iām dog sitting this senior basset who is constantly giving me judgmental looks, which is pretty ballsy for someone who Iāve caught eating their own poop three times this week.

Went from 2 to 3. It was actually a pretty good transition. Our newest is a 3 year old surrender, background not really known. Her owner passed away and the family surrendered her, intact and without much information. She was very under socialized, but has been catching up quickly. We are officially a pack! She has learned to play with her brother and sister, she had no idea how. Jumps on the couch and sleeps in bed. I think she likes it here!!

hello everyone!
i have a 1.5 year old basset, and iāve been dealing with some pretty serious aggression issues with him. to preface, i got him at 8 weeks and he is still intact as of now.
he has an issue with resource guarding, but over things he knows are mine. the bed, dirty socks, things he knows i will try to take away from him because he knows he shouldnāt have them. he does not show the same guarding towards his own things, like food/toys/treats. i can usually get those things in my hands with zero issue.
he is majorly possessive over the bed. it has become such an issue that he has bitten me a couple times, but more recently he bit me badly and left me with a pretty serious puncture wound. this happened when i was moving him away from the bed and towards his crate for a time out (something iād been trying to calmly do for him to separate him). when this happens, he bares his teeth, snarls, growls, barks, and drools. very scary, like something youād see in a movie to be honest!
he also has a bad habit of peeing on the bed. not a marking type of pee, but a full pee. he did this twice today, both times while i was asleep (he usually sleeps alongside me with no issue). he has peed on the bed when i do something he doesnāt like, for example when i close the bathroom door while iām showering, or today i tried to correct him and keep him off the bed to prevent another pee situation (did not work, fml)
i have tried many things⦠positive reinforcement, being firm, trying to help him see me as the ābig dogā (iām starting to think he does notā¦), training collar, everything⦠he does not show the same aggression towards other people or dogs, just towards me.
does anyone out there have any suggestions? others have told me to go ahead and get him fixed, and if that does not help, to enroll him in behavioral training.
any helpful and constructive advice is welcome. iām heartbroken because i love him with my entire soul, but it is becoming overwhelming! š
