Help allergies?

we have a basset who just turned 3. in the past 2 weeks he’s been actively licking his paws. scratching with his back paws and irritating and scabing himself. I put him in a suite to stop itching and he healed, but when I take it off he’s still red and itchy. he’s on over the counter allergy pills (vet recommended) and gut health tabs. he eats lamb and rice Costco blend food for about a year. wondering if it’s just allergies or yeast. and how would I know aside going to the vet. willing to go, but seeing if this just happens. thanks!
