He was doing really good today! He destroyed another tennis ball 🥲 and had a lot of energy. He was very happy to see me and I wish I was able to stay longer. His surgery is Friday and I’ll be going with mom to the vet to give my bestest boy all the support he needs.

Hi all, I just noticed this in my 2.5 year old Basset’s armpit. Has anyone seen something like this before? Thanks!

I have a 12 month old male basset. Recently at his neutering appointment, we weighed him, and he’s only 48 pounds. Is that too small? He’s very hyper and active, but isn’t super loose and floppy like other bassets.

…Darwin (mum – tri coloured 12 Years old) and Luna (daughter -one eyed Bassett 7 years old). Even our Cat Murph wanted to come for a walk…I mean sniff.

I am new to having Basset Hounds. My baby girl is 6 months old and lives in the country with me.nshe is used to my family but any time she sees a person she tries with all her strength to pull away. I don’t want to keep pulling her back if that’s making it worse. I’d like to take her to the park and be able to go places without her being so scared. If someone visits she hides and won’t come out Please give me advice!♡♡♡♡

Our first boy, Lambeau, made it to almost 13 years old. He slipped a disc in his back in April ’20, and I thought then we’d have to have him put down. Luckily, with a few months of laser treatments, he was able to get around on good days. On bad days, I used a towel around his belly to help him up and down steps, and so he could mosey around the yard and get his sniffing and tracking in. He passed away last month. I missed his presence so much — always at my side, in my business, with that Basset spunk and stubbornness. A few weeks later, we drove over four hours round-trip to get Beauregard Dandy. He’s now 12 weeks old, and simply a joy that has helped heal my broken heart.

We bought some steps for the couch and bed and hope to get Beau trained to use them to help prevent a future back injury. So far, so good that he’s willing to use them.

I grew up with a Basset, Bosley, and they’re simply the best dogs ever. We have two Cockaliers, and I love them dearly, but the Basset personality makes me smile.

(First Reddit post ever, so I hope I’ve done this correctly. I love seeing all the posts and all the Basset love.)
