Separation Anxiety Help

My basset is about 6 months old and I am going back to work full time. To prepare him, I’ve been trying to leave him alone a few minutes each day, but he instantly starts ripping down my front window blinds to see out the window and howls like a maniac. I have tried “calming chews” with minimal (if any) success. He never used to be destructive like this, it only just started. I am in an apartment and have already gotten noise complaints and am at risk of being evicted. Any advice? I am thinking of crating him but I don’t love that he’d be in there for 8+ hours a day. That also likely wouldn’t solve his barking issue.

Looking for feedback on a specific breeder

Hi everyone! We are looking for another basset and after four rescues- we’d like a puppy.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with “low rider bassets” based out of humble, Texas.

They send pics/videos on request and markings/backgrounds and people are consistent in the images but they won’t take PayPal goods and services. Only friends and family. red flag right? We tried last year with a different breeder and I was left waiting at the meeting point and came home empty handed. I’m really hoping someone here knows of them and has had a positive experience. Or what ways can I protect myself if it does go south again?

Basset mix surprise

We’re waiting on the dna to confirm but mom was a full blooded basset and the sellers told us they think dad was a chihuahua.. but this is our baby firefly. I wanna breed her with a basset because I think she’d make some cute puppy’s🥰 a lot of people think she’s mixed with beagle though, what ya think?

Life jackets?

Merlin and I are the proud new owners of a kayak and we tried it out on dry land to see how he would fit and he will most definitely have room to lay down comfortably. BUT I haven’t been able to find a decent life jacket for this long lean basset of mine. Any suggestions on what you’ve had success with? A snoozy photo is the handsome hound in question.

What percentage basset hound does a pupper have to be to ‘belong’ here?

We have a dog, Khan. I love Khan. I also love basset hounds. We had a basset hound when I was a child, but ended up rehoming him because he had medical issues we couldn’t afford to care for. Since then I have always had a soft spot in my heart for basset hounds. Khan is 39% basset hound, 12% German shepherd, and the rest is a mix of no higher than 2% of anything. DNA tested. I’ve been lurking and am content to continue if y’all feel we’re not a good fit.

When it’s time?

14 year old basset hound, he’s on painkillers but still often has issues getting up out of his bed, will soil his bed and himself. His dementia episode of barking throughout the night and looking confused are becoming more frequent. I sat with him not long ago and he just looked so sad. He’s eating and drinking but to look at him now, he looks so tired. He lost a lot of weight quickly back in March, vet wasn’t sure why. We thought he was going to let go in April due to how he was then. I don’t want him to be suffering but lately I think that’s all he does. His legs have also started to go from underneath him. I’m unsure of what to do? I don’t think my family would like me to get him euthanasia but I want to do whats best for him.
