My hound doggies!

Found this subreddit and love seeing everyone post photos of their precious bassets so figured I’d do the same!

This is Oliver (one eye) and Posey! I never had a dog growing up. When I started dating my wife, she had just got Oliver. We will never not have a basset hound <3

Question about coming into “season”

For context my little girl will be 2 in September, and I have never had an intact female before. All of my other females have been spayed. What are the signs to keep watch out for in order to keep the male dogs away from her when she starts her cycle? When she does come into heat, I will get her some doggy diapers to help with unwanted discharge and also if a male does get into my fenced in yard where she is while going to potty. I do let her stay outside by herself during the morning, just to let her get some fresh air and exercise. I do plan on breeding her, but not right now. I need to have her umbilical hernia fixed before she gets bread to keep her safe and no risk ot her health. Any advice will be appreciated

Potty…again

We are about to pull our hair out. I know Bassets pee often and can be difficult to potty train, but our 4 month old puppy is peeing every 10 to 15 minutes and taking her out that often is just about impossible. Anybody have any insight?

Daisy Mae sure does love our weekend morning routine

We hit a different park near the community center hoping to do some shopping at the farmers market after our walk, but they moved the market to the other side of town, so we the smaller close to our house. Was hoping our walk would tire her out for her bath, but she got her second wind and serious case of the zoomies around the house when I tried to dry her off

Basset skin issues

My almost 6 month old basset has a lot of issues with the skin on his belly, a lot of pimple looking bumps? he scratches himself constantly and he’s already gotten an injection for allergies and we use an oatmeal shampoo on him. We’re on a tight budget as the military doesn’t pay much so any affordable suggestions if possible please!
