Sometimes you gotta sniff the flowers. Sometimes you gotta lay in them. Sometimes BOTH

This is Penelope. She’s 3.5 and struggling with lymphoma. She’s in remission now but there’s a good chance that’ll only last a few more months.

In the mean time, she’s living her best life. She’ll be adding a new little sister from Blue Mountain Bassets next month. Hopefully she can teach her new friend how to be as good of a dog as she is.

Penelope does not bay or howl. She’s not food focused and I have heard her bark a total of TWICE in her entire life. She’s just a good dog.

Edit: The photos! It was about 100 outside and she decided to lay in/on the peony!

Yeasty?

Does this look like a yeasty chin/mouth? Brucey’s been itching more inbthe past few days, after a few weeks of intense humidity and heat. I do have chlorhexidine/ketoconazole wipes for his ears, and I’ve tried drying his jowls and wiping his mouth with them, but nothing stays too long because he’s drooling so much. He also doesn’t want to eat.

Update: I’m crying asking….

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/bassethounds/s/o0ZuX7YRcF

So I flew home to get things rolling in the correct direction. I have a local behaviorist coming tomorrow morning for a meet and greet, and to see the interactions in person. His first thought was separation anxiety and maybe jealousy, which I already thought.

I also have him scheduled to be neutered on the third.

I’m actively looking for pet friendly places where I work but my hours combined with him being a hound who VERY much has a morning and afternoon song to sing, I’m better off finding my own house, which will take a bit.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Conseils pour saillie

Bonjour

Merci d’avance
