Basset hound adoption advice

My boyfriend and I fell in love with a sweet and silly 6yo female basset hound that is being fostered by a super nice couple with a basset specific rescue. We had so much fun getting to know her and our dogs got along too (we have an older female pyre mix). Sounds like she was used for breeding like our current dog and previous owners left her when they moved. She sounds almost good to be true, well socialized, sweet, kept making us laugh with her goofy personality, and good with cats (we have a cat as well), and apparently not much of a barker which is amazing! Our current dog is weirdly not a barker and we’ve been spoiled by that trait.

My concerns are that I’ve heard basset hounds can be difficult to walk due to being so scent driven and stubborn. I already have a 75 pound stubborn pyre mix who I had to train a good bit so that’s my main reservation about doubling the stubborn dog count in our household, otherwise we love bassets and have talked about rescuing one for a while. I know there’s probably a lot of variation but do bassets tend to be food motivated with training? How difficult is it to train basset hounds with loose leash training by?

TYIA!!!
