My basset mix ruptured a disc. Help!

Hi – I’m new to this group. Meet Chunky! I fostered him for a rescue and ended up adopting this sweet boy. He’s roughly one year old. He’s got a total basset body, but hus ears and head aren’t quite full basset. I do love him dearly. He’s had a few ankle sprains already, and about ten days ago, he started having excruciating pain while walking. It was a ruptured disc this time. Two days at the vet and an anti-inflammatory treatment along his spine really helped! He’s been on muscle relaxers, gabapentin, prednisone, and tranquilizers to help him rest and heal up. He’s been doing so great since I brought him home six days ago!!! Until today 🙁 He’s in excruciating pain again. The vet said his shots probably wore off (they only last 5-7 days). He also may have slept wrong. I’m waiting for my friend to get here so we can get him back to the vet. This poor guy is hurting! Anyone else have experience with this? They’re going to give him more shots and said he’d probably be able to come back home afterward. Fingers crossed. This has been really traumatizing, and I thought he was on the mend. I’m so stressed out from this 🙁 Any suggestions or advice with this situation would be so greatly appreciated.

Grass?!

Brucey, Captain of Team No Sleep, is very concerned that his snow is melting! Where will he go poops?!

Sidenote: He absolutely refuses to walk through puddles and it’s kind of adorable and hilarious 😂 Anyone else?!

Best Winter Coat

Hi all! I just shared this in another post, but have been meaning to share here, too!

We live in almost-Canada Vermont and it gets really, really cold and windy. I found this coat on Amazon and it’s great!

Brucey is 8mos and 47lbs, and I ordered him the XL. There’s a bit of growing room, it might fit next year 🤷‍♀️

I don’t earn any commission or whatever, just wanted to share a great find. Check it out!
