Basset Hounds for You

Even our other basset doesn’t get up when I come home.

Took her for a short drive around town after the park before it got to hot

Then as she was walking away she almost tripped because of the hole under the trampoline that my sister’s dog, Nova (Pyrenees Anatolian Shepherd mix) dug.

I saw a post today and one of the basset hounds reminded me of my dog, Jett Jett. We only had Jett Jett for just over a year because he was a senior when we rescued him and there were health issues. He was such a good boy and had the softest ears. My only regret was not being able to say goodbye. Chester passed 5 or 6 years ago now, he was surrounded by family when we put him to sleep. He told us he was ready. He lost the use of his back legs and couldn’t control his bowel movements anymore. He was 12 years old. He was loved and cherished to the very end. I have to add sweet pictures of these guys just because I think they are blasted cute!… but post question really is about dental. Our beautiful older (10) perfect penny had to have three teeth removed extracted this week. I was asking the vet how we can avoid this with our younger handsome Jett. She highly recommended getting a sedation dental cleaning every few years and that really would have prevented it? Before anyone makes me feel worse than I do about pennys teeth, I’ll disarm you and let you know now that I do not brush my dogs teeth twice a day. I just don’t. Not opposing it, just letting everyone know I understand the obvious question. But what else have you done for dental hygiene. I’ve done the bones, good food, ect. (Actually this vet was against hard bones due to excess wear on teeth as people have strayed from rawhide, she says alternatives are definitely showing with wear) I have not in the past one sedation dental care and just want to make sure that now that I know better, do better with our puppy. Kind suggestions welcome🥰🥰

We’ve had Gonzo for about a week now. We bring her outside every hour (we let her sleep though). When she wakes up from a big nap we take her straight outside. I have a big grassy yard and she loves it. But every day she will pee inside several times despite this and poo. This is my first puppy and im trying to do everything i can. I just want some advice from the community. Thank you
