My basset has snapped twice now at my misses would love some advice

My basset (female) (6 months old) was in her own bed and my misses tried to pick her up to bring her to our own and instantly went her with no warning growl, second time was when my basset was laying in our bed and my misses was patting her and put her head by her stomach and she growled and went her again (two different days, same week), would love some help or advice or reasoning for this behaviour

Best food??

I’ve had my basset on Farmers dog for probably 6 months, I’ve noticed an increase in energy, healthier coat & skin, healthy poops, etc.. it’s been great for him. But he is not getting enough calories from the suggested pack size and I am looking to supplement to keep him full and keep his weight at a healthy place. I keep seeing such conflicted reviews of ALL dog food, farmers dog included. I want something that has no byproducts, real meat and veg, organ meat, nothing with salt listed before anything meaningful, no additives, human grade food, meets standards for aafco and wsava. Does it exist?? 😂 if there is something better than farmers dog I’ll consider making the switch completely. He is picky though! I just want to give him the best but there’s so much info conflicting everything that I can’t seem to even grasp ahold of something that’s good for him. I’d cook if I had the time. 🥲
