Does anyone’s else’s hound have a majorly sensitive stomach? What do you feed them/make sure to not feed them? She was really sick when we got her as a baby, looks like there’s lingering side effects!

Hello! A month ago, we lost our beloved Chester, who was just over a year old (I shared a post about it here). It was a difficult time, but last week, we found this beautiful boy who has brought some joy back into our lives. He’s 10 weeks old and settling in wonderfully—almost no accidents in the house! He’s eager to get all his vaccines so he can start exploring the world.
He has a big Basset brother who’s 12 years old and three cat sisters to keep him company.

I’ve been thinking of adding a basset to the fam for a while.
I messaged a lady who has a litter of 9 lemon bassets looking for homes, but unfortunately the sire and the mother (family pet) were both not health tested nor are KC registered.
I was wondering if this is a massive red flag or a deal breaker?

My girl recently had an ear infection recently, the visit, test run, and medication, and follow up visit came to $380. she’s been a real pain about letting me do the ointment 😂 anyway i know it’s common for bassets but to avoid this in the future, what’s your ear cleaning process? I usually just use unscented baby wipes 1x a week but that may not be strong enough to kill bacteria and yeast lurking.

Hi all! My girl honey is just about to be 9 months. I had planned on having her fixed and called her vet last week and they stated I would need to wait for her to go through her first heat cycle and then once she does to let them know and they will get her scheduled. She ended up going into heat this week. I’ve never had a female dog so I’m just trying to understand if I can make her comfortable and if her behavior is normal. She’s mostly herself but just extremely whiny and clingy and doesn’t want to play normally when we go outside so we’ve been taking it easy. She also seems kind of on edge. Is it normal for the vet to have you wait until after their first cycle? Just looking for advice! Thank you!
