Separation anxiety

Our Gus is 2 and has severe separation anxiety. I’ve recently considered sending him with a recent rehome, but I want to know that I tried every single thing before hand. We love him and really don’t want to get rid of him but he poops everywhere every time we leave. He is completely house trained but his separation anxiety is so insane. I recently bought one of the balls you put the treats in and they have to work out. No luck he wasn’t really interested. I try leaving one of my shirts with him. Someone please help me. Any recommendations?

Basset UTI

My poor boy has a UTI (urinary tract infection) shortly before Christmas, he was having lots of uncomfortable and uncontrollable urination. We caught it pretty early and he took his antibiotics but today while he was sleeping he wet himself. I’m thinking he must have another UTI.

Is this common for bassets? Our theory is he squats to pee, and maybe he is catching germs off of the ground. It’s the rainy season in Oregon so there are little puddles in our yard of standing water. He will be 2 in August but too this close together has to be related.

He eats royal canin medium, he has access to clean water all day, and he does drink a lot. I just don’t know how to help him not get infections.
