Basset Hounds for You

Our little boy turned ONE yesterday! I can’t belive it, time surely flies.

I recently posted that he was not sleeping at all since his neuter… honestly I think I sleep posted because I totally forgot about it until just now. After 16 days, he’s on day 2 of sleeping through the night again.

I signed him up for two 8hr days of daycare in a row, and we wouldnt let him nap afterward until it was bedtime. We’ve also been ignoring him at bedtime and he’s slowly remembering what bedtime used to be like. Praise the lord, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! 🤣👏🏻

We wouldn’t trade him for anything though, our sweet, sassy, and so very snuggly little prince. 🎉🎂💗

This is appears to be a routine. I get the notification of her leaving, so I will b watching to make sure she is safe. Our land but a road not too far from that location.

I’ve never experienced a dog in heat before. Poppy is 3 years old and we adopted her almost a month ago. We had no vaccination history, so we started her off basically like a puppy with a vaccine schedule and she’ll be fully vaccinated on the 3rd. Our vet said vaccines first, then spay. I noticed her backside a little bit bigger yesterday and her licking her hoo haw this morning. She’s a bit lethargic and grumbly too. Could she be starting a heat cycle? What should I expect? Can I still walk her, or should I just keep her “safe” in our house and yard only?

Copper just finished his final comprehensive test and weigh-in for his first year! 🥰 he weighs a healthy 52 pounds!

She has the pout of a young me. She has the run of a hippo…. But tell me, Does your basset have a ba-Donka-donk?
