The reason I say “poor Poppy” is she’s around 3 years old. I’ve only ever spayed puppies. She was a total wreck after. We got her June 6th from a pretty unknown background, her owner passed away from cancer and the family surrendered her instead of keeping her. We had to start her from puppy shots since we didn’t have a vet history. Anyway. My point is, owners ask when is the right time to fix your dog. I can answer that now that I have experience. As young as you feel comfortable. When they’re still puppies it’s almost the next day and they’re back on their feet. Poor Poppy took it pretty hard. Just recovering from anesthesia was tough. (We also had a cyst removed from her head). She’s pretty beat up.

We decided to try a different park that’s about 10 miles away (but 1st coffee) but the off leash park is on the lake. Daisy had a grand old time, but only got up to the water to her chest

Yes, that is an overstuffed chair, a dog couch, and a toddler bed (photo from Ring cam).

He’s a purebred basset! Currently 9 years old, almost 10. We adopted him a little after his 1st birthday. The silliest hound, loves a good cuddle and soft toy (and very much loves my girlfriend). Wants nothing more than to be friends with everyone… including my mothers cat who does not tolerate his existence!!
(For backstory: He originally belonged to a family who had him as a small pup. After a couple months when he got big, they had a baby. Since he was too much for them and a baby, they essentially locked him in a crate in a backroom. Close to his 1st birthday, they asked someone to dogsit him, which then turned into them telling his (suddenly now) fosterer to just keep him. They were already overwhelmed with their own dogs and couldn’t handle another. In a desperate attempt to find a home for him, they put a post on Facebook. My mother saw it and fell in love with his big, sad eyes. Brought him home the day she met him.)
He’s purebred! His old owners had an official document with his family tree (right words? idk!) and offical documents that are able to state hes 100% basset (given to his old fosterer and then to us)- we’ve had vets also tell us he’s more basset then most now due to the fact his lineage isn’t overbred!
