First Time basset owner

I am having an incredibly hard time potty training my basset, she’s 6 months old and can’t seem to 100% comprehend using the bathroom outside. Sometimes she wines and sits by the door other’s she just uses the bathroom inside. I have googled and have tried to implement what Google said and it just isn’t working . Any tips?
