How lazy are basset hounds, really?

I am thinking about adding another dog to my pack and I really like more lowkey dogs, BUT I’m not sure whether a basset would be a good fit or not. I take my dogs on long hikes, and like to do a ton of walking, and it seems like a lot of bassets don’t really want to do all of that?

I mean, all dogs are individuals of course and I’m sure some do, but while researching it seems like a lot of people have bassets that will just lay down and decide they’re done, LOL! I have pugs, one rescue and two from a reputable breeder, and all of em’ wanna do whatever I’m doing.

Hike 8 km? Yes! Sit on the couch for two days straight because the weather is terrible? Also yes!

I’m thinking bassets are way more independent LOL. More of a mind of their own. What are all your bassets like? What is typical for this breed?

Help!!

My girlfriend gave my 2 month old basset hound a bath this morning. He apparently drank a good amount of the bath water. We finished up with the bath, then he napped for about 30 minutes. He woke up and had an accident (I think he was on his way over to the bell system we have, just didn’t get there in time) since then, I have been outside with him, it has been non stop peeing for about 45 minutes. I’ve brought him in twice and both resulted in an accident almost immediately. How long will it take to get it out of his system roughly?
