Need help getting sap out of fur!

We have three huge pine trees in our back yard and, of course, our bassets’ favorite place to hang out is underneath them (because that’s where the squirrels are).

Unfortunately, this means their bellies and butts get all these sticky spots from the sap that comes down and the needles.

Our girls HATE baths so I’m wondering if anyone has any tips for getting this sticky stuff off. A warm wet wash cloth will get the stuck on needles off but doesn’t really get the sap fully off.

Any help would be appreciated
