Should I get a basset?

So I have a just turned 3 year old bloodhound. She has hip dysplasia ( which I will be getting her a total hip replacement) and something else wrong with her front wrist from an injury as a puppy while playing with another dog. So unfortunately she can’t really play hard or run ( although she wants to ). However when she’s feeling well and it’s cold out, she can walk for over two hours straight. Just nose to the ground.

Anyway she’s been very sad/lonely and I really think she needs a friend. She doesn’t ever want to play with people, only other dogs but her only neighbors are bully breed mixes and they have way to much energy for her.

So I was thinking maybe a basset would be a good choice? Like maybe they wouldn’t be too high energy for her. I’m just concerned that maybe they also wouldn’t be able to keep up with her walks at times. We also like to go hiking ( again due to her joint issues it’s very rare that we do and they aren’t super strenuous. ) Do you guys think a basset would be a good fit? Like could they do some hiking too? I grew up with a couple bassets at my grandma’s house but I was young and don’t remember much, they just kinda layed around. Any help would be appreciated!
