Our family is in the beginning stages of adopting a basset hound puppy and I’m doing all the mental prep I can. We’ve connected with a breeder and a trainer in our area for when they’re old enough but we’ve never owned a dog so I have a lot of (probably) common knowledge questions. My biggest one is this, if our puppy plays with other rascally dogs (ie, dogs that don’t respond to commands and bark incessantly) how likely is it for our puppy to pick up those bad habits? Do they learn that if other dogs can ignore their owners than they can to?
I feel like this is such a silly question. If it is, please don’t roast me 🫠
