American vs. European Basset.

With age catching up, I am loving Basset Hounds more than my (too) active Beagles. A couple of years ago, I rehomed two Bassets without knowing the difference. By chance, I got one perfect American (smaller, lean and muscular, no extra skin) and one European (big, heavy, lazy, lots of extra skin). If you want a Basset, have a better knowledge about the breed than I did, even though you can’t go wrong with owning one.
