Help with new puppy!

Hello, I am new to having a basset hound. This is Dahlia. She is 7 months old and quite the handful! She does NOT like being separated from me. I am constantly at home and rarely leave, so moments like taking a bath or going to sleep leaves Dahlia to cry constantly at the door. Every night my husband and I go to bed and leave Dahlia out with her sister ( french bulldog named lucy) and my dad ( who had to move in with me ) in the living room.

Despite another dog and person in the living room she still cries at the door and will chew and rip up anything she can get from tv remote, to hair brushes etc. I have given her bones, chewie and new toys but nothing seems to entertain her over night. I do have a large crate and was using that at when we first got Dahlia but even as a tiny puppy she would cry very loudly.

I no longer put her in the crate at night but now I am considering it since Dahlia has decided to rip up carpet by my bedroom door upsetting my husband. Should I leave Dahlia in the large crate with her sister over night? Lucy loves sleeping in the crate at night and misses it.
