How do I help a basset who gets car sick?

My basset gets car sick. Throw up all over the car type of car sick. I want to be able to take her places, but it ends up not going well every time I try.

The vet gave us a prescription for motion sickness but it doesn’t work all that well. At this point I’m wondering if it’s anxiety more than motion sickness.

She’s 4 and has been like this since we brought her home.

Does anyone have any tips on how to make car rides more enjoyable for my hound?

I don’t have to take her anywhere (outside of regular vet appointments) but I do think she’d enjoy going ot the beach and park. It’s just getting there that’s the problem.
